The 7th Ethiopian Urban Forum kicked off this afternoon in the city of Gondar, Amhara regional state.
Representatives of more than 231 cities and towns arrived yesterday in Gondar to attend the week-long forum.
Demise Shito, State Minister of Urban Development and Housing, said the forum helps cities to share best experiences on development and good governance issues.
The forum will see presentation of 19 research papers by scholars and exhibitions which allow participants to share best practices.
Tekeba Tebabal, mayor of Gondar city for his part said the city will seize the opportunity to promote tourist attraction and investment potentials.
It will also help to strengthen people-to-people ties, he added.
The forum is expected to attract more than 15,000 participants.
